A new design for the Grill & Kitchen store: what changed for shoppers

Grill & Kitchen sells Weber and Burnhard grills, grill accessories and kitchen appliances. The store runs on OpenCart, and instead of moving to a new platform we refreshed it inside and out: a new design, a new catalog logic and a few modules that help sell.

A catalog where products are easy to find

The main menu is now a mega menu: hover over a category and its products with prices appear right next to it. Shoppers see the range before they even open a section.

• Subcategory buttons. On a category page every subsection is listed at the top with its product count.
• Filters and sorting. Narrow the choice and switch between grid and list views.
• "Show more". Products load on the same page, with no page numbers to click through.

A product page that answers questions

A large photo slider, stock, price, delivery by Nova Poshta and Ukrposhta, and returns within 14 days. Everything a person wants to know before buying is on the first screen.

There are three ways to buy: the regular cart, one click with just a phone number, or on OLX if that feels more familiar. Several paths to the same order, so nobody leaves because of an awkward form.

What else is new

• Stickers. "New" and sale badges are visible right in the catalog.
• Chat with a manager. Shoppers write on the site and the manager replies right from Telegram, without opening the admin panel.
• Telegram notifications. Every new order arrives on the phone at once, so none get missed.
• Two languages. Ukrainian and Russian versions.
• Mobile version. Catalog, product page and cart are easy to use on a phone, where most shoppers come from.

What it is built on

The store runs on my N-WEB Store theme and N-WEB modules for OpenCart: buy in 1 click, stickers, support chat and Telegram notifications. They install on standard OpenCart without core edits, so the store stays easy to update.
